UK And US Stress Need For Broad-Based Government In Egypt

By

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has discussed the need for a transitional broad-based government in Egypt with US President Barack Obama.

Cameron and Obama spoke on the telephone to reaffirm their desire for the transition to a “broad-based” government to begin immediately, due to the gas explosion incident that stopped Jordan from receiving gas, UK spokesman said yesterday.

PM hailed on the restraint shown by the Egyptian army in the most recent protests, adding that Egyptian people need to determine the leadership of their country and freedom in fair elections.

Meanwhile, President Hosni Mubarak, 82 years old, refuses to step down from his post and stresses that if so, the country will enter a chaotic state and he must carry on till the elections that will be held in seven months.
