The result of the work by the Arab observers in Syria was the introduction of some amendments in the stance within the Arab League.

In addition to recognizing the existence of armed groups in Syria, there is a growing call to strengthen the work of the observers, according to the protocol signed with the Syrian government. These moves disable the internationalization of the Syrian crisis.

The Arab ministerial committee in charge of the Syrian file, conveyed Sunday at the conclusion of its meeting in Cairo, that the Syrian government “partially” implemented its obligations to the Arab League. The continued work of the Arab observers depends on the implementation of the commitments by the Syrian.

Arab diplomatic sources reported that the head of the Arab observers team Sudanese general Mohamed Ahmed Mustafa al-Dabi presented what he described as an objective picture of the situation in Syria. Dabi confirmed the existence of armed men in many areas in Syria. He said these gunmen are in control of some areas. Acording to the sources, Dabi warned about the possibility to transfer the Syrian issue to the United Nations, calling for the increasing numbers of observers and to increase the budget allocated to them.
