Kuwait: Police Arrest Person For Defaming Faith On Social Networks

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said Tuesday its personnel arrested a person for using a social network website to defame religious faith and slandering Muslims’ Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), his companions and wife.

The person is being interrogated pending a judicial proceeding, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry regretted the abusing of the social networks by some individuals to offend the basic Islamic and spiritual values, vowing to show zero tolerance in combating such serious offences.
