No assets, property under Mubarak’s name in Austria

Austrian authorities did not pin down any assets or property linked to former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Austrian Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman Peter Launsky said.

Unlike the Tunisian government, the Egyptian government did not request legal aid concerning the investigation of Mubarak’s possible assets in Austria, Austrian Radio and Television quoted Launsky as saying.

He added that Austria will look into presenting Egypt with legal help needed upon the latter’s request.

Austrian authorities froze assets of ousted Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, his wife and his close entourage upon a request tendered by Tunisian government.

The British authorities on the other hand, decided not to hand in any of Mubarak’s property to the Egyptian people.
